Coast Guard to hold media availability on new emergency beacons

WHO: Coast Guard Sector San Diego search and rescue personnel

WHAT: Search and rescue experts will be available to talk about the conversion of analog to digital emergency beacons happening Feb. 1. Topics to be discussed include the importance of having a beacon on board your vessel, how the Coast Guard responds when emergency signals are received and other safe boating practices.

WHEN: 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Jan. 23. Please call Petty Officer Henry Dunphy at 619-252-1304 no later than 4:00 p.m. Thursday if interested in attending.
