UPDATE: Coast Guard Interdicts 22 Migrants
SAN DIEGO -- Three Coast Guard units worked together to interdict 22 suspected migrants in the early morning hours Monday. The Cutter Narwhal spotted a boat without navigation lights moving erratically through the water northwest of the U.S.-Mexican border about 2 a.m. The boat gave chase, which led the Narwhal call Sector San Diego for assistance. An MH-60J Jayhawk helicopter was launched as well a 33-foot response boat from Station San Diego and were then able to intercept the panga 10 miles south of the U.S.-Mexican border.
