Coast Guard medevacs 73-year-old man from fishing boat
SAN DIEGO — A Coast Guard crew from Sector San Diego medically evacuated a 73-year-old man from a fishing vessel 88 miles south of San Diego today.
Sector was notified of a man aboard the 50-foot boat Ultra that was experiencing symptoms of a possible heart attack. An MH-60J Jayhawk helicopter was launched from Sector.
The helicopter crew arrived on scene at 2:18 p.m. and hoisted the man from the boat. He was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, Calif., in good condition.
