Coast Guard medevacs woman from cruise ship

SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a woman from a cruise ship today who was suffering from a head injury 25 miles west of Point Loma, Calif.

The Coast Guard was notified of the woman’s condition by the crew of the Carnival Paradise, and an MH-60J Jayhawk helicopter was launched from Sector San Diego to medevac her.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene at 5:15 p.m., and hoisted the woman from the cruise ship. She was transported to Sector where she was transferred to emergency medical personnel in stable condition.
