Coast Guard, partner agencies to hold oil spill response open house

WHAT: A press conference and open house to talk about San Diego’s oil spill plan.

WHO: Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy, California Department of Fish and Game’s Office of Oil Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR), National Response Corporation (Environmental Services) (NRC), and Volunteer San Diego

WHERE: Coast Guard Sector San Diego, 2710 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

WHEN: Monday, May 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

WHY: The partner agencies are hosting a press conference followed by an open house to talk about plans in place in the San Diego area in the case of an oil spill.

EDITOR’S NOTE: For media that are interested in attending, please call Petty Officer Allyson Conroy at 619.278.7022 no later than 9:15 Monday morning for instructions on parking and base access. There will be a brief introduction by the attendees, after which media are invited to talk with the representatives and take a look at the equipment used in an oil spill response.
