LOCAL COAST GUARDSMEN PARTICIPATE IN Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. - A Coast Guard Sector San Diego helicopter crew was featured, today, at The Nativity School's Career Day. A Sector San Diego HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter landed, this morning, in the middle of the playground at The Nativity School. Once the engines were secured, students gathered around the helicopter to learn about the roles and missions of the Coast Guard from Lt. David Marrama and Lt. David Reinhard, both Jayhawk pilots, and Petty Officer Jason Wright, a Jayhawk flight mechanic. One student was able to dress in a Coast Guard floatation vest and a pilot's helmet. The Coast Guard crew participated in a potato sack race before leaving the event. The event was part of Sector San Diego's community relations program. The objectives of the program are to develop, improve and maintain full public understanding and support of Coast Guard missions; present the Coast Guard positions on subjects of mutual interest and concern to appropriate individuals and groups; and establish an awareness that Coast Guard personnel are dedicated, highly-trained professional, vital to national security.
