COAST GUARDSMAN RE-ENLISTS ON USCG SEIZED VESSEL EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN - U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Kirk Wylie re-enlisted, in September 2005, on a vessel seized by the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter HAMILTON. Chief Wylie, a Denville, N.J. native, fulfilled a long-term desire to re-enlist on a seized drug smuggling vessel. Chief Wylie, a member of the USCGC Hamilton boarding team which seized the 70-foot fishing vessel Danny Ivan, was administered the reenlistment oath by fellow boarding team member, Chief Warrant Officer Randy Johnson, on the bridge of the Danny Ivan. A congratulatory photo is available. CLICK HERE FOR PHOTO. Chief Wylie's re-enlistment allows him to fulfill his dream and continue his 13-year career as a Coast Guard maritime law enforcement officer. The USCGC Hamilton's seizure of the Danny Ivan prevented 269 bales of cocaine, weighing more than six tons, from reaching the United States. The Danny Ivan seizure is of one of three narcotics seizures conducted by Maritime Law Enforcement Boarding Teams on the San Diego-based, 378-foot cutter.
